Re-imagining The Easter Egg

IMG_7495 (2).jpg

In many parts of the world, Easter is a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Overtime, the meaning has evolved where Christians and non-Christians partake in customary activities such as egg coloring, hunts and other commercial gift giving expenditures.

This design lab workshop will embrace the symbolic significance of the circle of life. Lab guests will create designs that show each step of the life cycle : initial beauty, struggle and re-birth.

This workshop is considered an experimental design challenge. All materials, drinks and light snacks will be provided. Guests will leave with their own artistic creations and complementary Floral Soil to re-create and share.

Cupcake Mondays @ Design Lab

Our passion for design started with a “cupcake”. Floral Soil Botanical Cupcakes ™ are a house and community favorite. With constant innovation being the goal, botanical cupcakes are the only recurring design in our workshop series. Although we capture the essence of a cupcake in the sculpting process, botanical cupcakes are one the most versatile shapes in our repertoire. Various design concepts will be featured at the workshop in addition to best practice techniques for sustainable designs that last.

This is the perfect first Floral Soil experience and a sustainable gift giving alternative. Guests will leave with their own creation and complementary Floral Soil to repeat and share.

Design Lab Experimental Challenge: Every lab includes a community focused experimental challenge. In a show of support for a declining population of pollinators, we will lean how to grow plants that attract bees, hummingbirds and others in the pollinator family.

The experience is all-inclusive, offering a variety of design materials, gluten free smoothies and organic juices.

Join us every Monday at select locations.

A Month of Love

ugiveme5 (3).jpg

In many countries around the world, February is a symbolic month of love. Candy, flowers and other gifts are exchanged, all in the name of St. Valentine. While the history is a bit murky, the message is clear; it is a recurring moment in time to express your feelings for loved ones.

In honor of St. Valentine, Design Lab by Floral Soil is re-imagining the meaning and creating memories with purpose. This month, our canvas is sculpted in the shape of a heart, constructed of materials that support seeds and cuttings. Many different materials will be utilized for design including cut flowers and succulents. Lab guests will create their very own designs to take home and share with loved ones.

Various Floral Soil specific design techniques will be explored including re-use. You will leave with a wonderful experience, hopefully new friends, your design, and some complimentary Floral Soil.

Design Lab Experimental Challenge: Every lab includes a community focused experimental challenge. Western Monarch Butterfly populations have declined more than 90% in two decades. Monarchs are not only beautiful, they help pollinate flowers and eat less desirable plants. In a show of support techniques and materials will be shared to grow Milkweed/butterfly flowers recycled Floral Soil. Milkweed is the single food source for Monarch caterpillars. These butterfly flowers can be planted in pots and garden beds. Our goal is to create an environment to attract these beautiful creatures and do what we can to save them.

Expressing love and saving butterflies. We thought that would be a perfect match for Valentine’s.❤️

This is an all-inclusive workshop that includes materials, food and drink.
